Exploring A/I Artistic Intelligence
Irony is about contradictions that do not resolve into larger wholes, even dialectically, about the tension of holding incompatible things together because both or all are necessary and true. Irony is about humour and serious play. It is also a rhetorical strategy and a political method,
one I would like to see more honoured within socialist-feminism. (Donna Haraway)

Part II: The Uncanny and the Mundane – Human-Machine Interaction in the Performing Arts, Planetary Simulations, and Eldercare
Mini symposium, followed by discussion
Concept: Ilja Mirsky. Evan Moritz, Noah Zijie Qu
Symposium Description:
The symposium focuses on human–machine interfaces which sit between the uncanny or novel presentation of new media in performance and the mundane integration of technology into our quotidian lives. The three presentations explore the intersection of innovative technological applications (e.g., virtual reality) in performance and the use of voice assistant (VA) technology in eldercare activities. We explore how digital technology shapes the behavior and perception of performers and audiences in performance settings, as well as how it impacts older adults’ task performance and psychological factors, such as product assembly tasks and self-efficacy. Collectively, these presentations offer a critical reflection on the evolving role of digital technology in both creative and practical contexts.
